Yasmeen Nematt Alla's exhibition at Grebel Gallery

Fine Arts Alumna Yasmeen Nematt Alla's work Not Traumatic Enough for a Shock Blanket听颈蝉 currently on exhibit at Grebel Gallery.聽 The work is based around the question, 鈥Where do we go to talk about our everyday traumatic experiences that we do not believe are worthy of sharing?鈥澛 The exhibition runs from September 7, 2021 to March 7, 2022.

In collaboration with Yasmeen, the Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement has also launched an interactive project for students, staff and faculty at the University of 蓝莓视频 called 鈥淚f Trauma Could Echo鈥.聽 This project allows participants to reflect on their adversities and share it with Yasmeen Nematt Alla. As a token of gratitude for sharing your experiences, she will send participants small shock blankets with abstract excerpts from their stories to hold and reflect on what they鈥檝e shared. 聽To participate, go to the 鈥If Trauma Could Echo鈥 webpage (uwaterloo.ca/centre-peace-advancement/grebel-gallery/if-trauma-could-echo-project) and fill out the webform on the聽website. The project continues until December 20, 2021.
