Congratulations to our newest PhD graduate, Dr. Maša Torbica! Maša's dissertation is titled "Idle No More: A Rhetorical Analysis of a Movement"; her supervisor was Heather Smyth and readers were Frankie Condon and Linda Warley. The external examiner was Pauline Wakeham and the internal/external examiner was Kelsey Leonard. Her defense was chaired by Colleen Maxwell.

Congratulations to U��ݮ��Ƶ English’s newest PhD, Dr. Sally Beresford - Sheridan! On September 15, Sally successfully defended her dissertation, “Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers. Detecting Community in their Public, Private, and Fictional Lives” The supervisor was Dr. Carol Acton, with committee members Dr. Kate Lawson (U��ݮ��Ƶ English), Dr. Victoria Lamont (U��ݮ��Ƶ English). The internal/external was Dr. Jane Nicolas (St. Jerome's History) and the external was Dr. Ann C. Martin, of the University of Saskatchewan.

Congratulations to U��ݮ��Ƶ English’s newest PhD, Dr. sarah currie! On April 26, sarah successfully defended her dissertation, “The Mad Manifesto.” The supervisor was Dr. Jay Dolmage, with committee members Dr. Heather Love (U��ݮ��Ƶ English) and Dr. Madelaine Hron (Wilfrid Laurier University). The internal/external was Dr. Kim Nguyen, and the external was Dr. Fady Shanouda, of Carleton University. 

Congratulations to U��ݮ��Ƶ English’s newest PhD, Dr. Betsy Brey! On April 14, Betsy successfully defended her dissertation, “Digital Dialogism: Space, Time, and Queerness in Video Games.” She was co-supervised by Drs. Neil Randall and Gerald Voorhees, with committee members Drs. Ken Hirschkop and Heather Smyth. The External Examiner was Dr. Cody Mejeur and the Internal/External Examiner was Dr. Luke Potwarka. 

Congratulations to Dr. Zachary Pearl, who on February 21, 2023 successfully defended his dissertation, "Fictocritical Cyberfeminism: A Paralogical Model for Post-Internet Communication" Dr. Pearl's supervisor was Dr. Marcel O'Gorman, the internal members were Dr. Heather Love and Dr. Brianna Wiens, the internal-external member was Dr. Carla Fehr and the external examiner was Dr. Aristea Fotopoulou of the University of Brighton.

Congratulations to Dr. Monique Kampherm, who on Dec. 22 successfully defended her dissertation, “Masks and Caricatures: Prosopopoeia, Ethopoeia, and the Effect of Social Media on Canadian Political Leaders’ Debates."
