The Engineering Machine Shop (EMS) is the manufacturing hub that serves the Engineering Faculty and UW community.Ìý Our capabilities enable us to produce custom machined parts, mechanical prototypes, and specialty tooling that supports a wide range of student design team projects, undergrad teaching labs, and research initiatives.Ìý

Engineering Student Machine Shop
The Engineering Student Machine Shop (ESMS), located in E5, is the Engineering Faculty’s primary student machine shop andÌýsupports course projects, student design teams, entrepreneurship, and graduate students.ÌýÌýThe ESMS provides access to a variety of machine tools for metal and wood based projects. ÌýThe Shop is supervised by qualified machinist instructors who are available for training on equipment and any technical questions.
