In this workshop, you will learn to tap into your innate strength and wisdom in a way that will allow you to build bridges of positive relationships through mutualized understanding. This pro-active inner work will act as a ripple in the pond that will spread far and wide across community, thus creating culture change.
Conflict management training often focuses on the interpersonal processes and techniques that can lead to better communication and negotiation towards settlement of interpersonal issues. These are important processes and techniques, but using them alone, without doing the inner work beforehand, greatly decreases the potential for success, both in the negotiation and also in the relationship.
What Kevin brings to conflict models is the understanding that the true origin of conflict is not something that occurs between people as much as it is a inner choice we each sometimes make to view those around us through a lens that lessens their humanity in our perception.
The focus of this workshop is to understand the importance of this inner work, to tap into our innate sense of connection and humanity and to then utilize those communication and negotiation skills in a fresh new way that virtually guarantees mutualized understanding that often then leads to resolution of issues.
Whether you are brand new to dealing with conflict and just wanting to see what it is all about; or have already taken a great deal of ADR training and perhaps worked in the field for a long time, this workshop is bound to provide you with new and different insight of how to utilize these essential knowledge and skills.
The workshop will be conducted in circle format. The workshop will include instruction, stories, sharing and skills development through role plays.
Kevin brings over 20 years experience as an internal ADR practitioner in large Government organizations, partnered with many years of coaching and training, as well as being a graduate of the Grebel certificate in Conflict Management and Mediation (2009). We are excited to provide this opportunity for Kevin to facilitate his transformational and 'heart of peace' approach that complements many familiar models of conflict management.

Testimonials from inaugural delivery summer 2024:
"I wasn't sure what to expect from the workshop, however it exceeded my expectations and gave me space to consider aspects of peace,Ìý peacemaking, communication, reconciliation from perspectives and angles that were nourishing and life-giving."
"This should be a required workshop for the Certificate in Conflict Management."
"I've described the training to others that it felt like a retreat. So rarely in doing this work, or learning about this work do we get time to explore how we find our inner peace. It allowed for collective wisdom sharing and center the learning in the heart not the head."
