It’s been a year since School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) students took the world stage by storm at the CFA Institute Research Challenge and a lot has changed in that short period of time. In 2016 five students from the SAF (l-r), Kamaljot Dhaliwal, Daniel Zhang, Brent Small, Rudder Zhang and Adnan Khan, used their diverse co-op and program backgrounds to beat out over 1,000 teams from 70 countries to become the World Champions in a business valuation competition. But, where are they now?

CFM student among team that wins the 5th annual Investment Research Challenge (IRC).

The 2017 Investment Research Challenge (IRC) was held on Friday, July 14. CFM student takes home the gold with their team.Ìý

Jen (CFM student), Arthur, Michael, and Erin  did extremely well in the final presentations in Atlanta. Hire Heroes implemented many of their recommendations and awarded the team "Most Value to Hire Heroes".

The School of Accounting and Finance at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ recently hosted the 2015 Investment Research Challenge (IRC). The competition required student groups to analyze a publicly-traded stock and defend its buy/hold/sell recommendation.

Peter Forsyth, a professor in À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ's Cheriton School of Computer Science and former CFM Co-Director, has developed an algorithm that shows how online brokerages are likely not handling investors' buy and sell orders in the best way possible. CFM students took the lead in the inaugural Investment Research Challenge hosted by the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. Congratulations goes to Linda Teng (4A CFM) and her team on taking home the $2,000 prize as the winning team.Ìý

Student winners of this year’s Equity Research Challenge (ERC) cashed in on their prize by participating in the TSX opening ceremonies for the Toronto Stock Exchange on Thursday morning, March 28^th, with the winning students ringing the opening bell.
