Congratulations to the CFM 101 Team Competition Winners!

CFM co-director has received the 2023 Arthur Beaumont Distinguished Service Award from CAIMS, the . Named after its first recipient, the award was established in 1987 to honour ��ݮ��Ƶ Applied Mathematics Professor  for his many years of service to the society.

The first-ever CFM course to be offered at the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ ended with a portfolio-generation competition. Teams of three first-year CFM students were tasked with coding portfolio-creation applications in the python programming language that were set loose on the market, with final portfolio values determined as of the close on Monday, December 6.

Professor James R. Thompson, co-director of the Computing and Financial Management program and a Professor at ��ݮ��Ƶ’s School of Accounting and Finance, has been elected as a president of the , a Canadian-based association of researchers in the field of finance.

Keshav Chawla has long harboured a passion for computer science and finance. When he discovered a way to pursue both disciplines simultaneously through ��ݮ��Ƶ’s Computing and Financial Management program, his choice of university was clear. “I knew how robust and built-out the program was before coming in,” he explained. “Having that combination of both disciplines was the perfect fit for me.”

My name is Andy Wang and I graduated in 2013 from the class of 2008. 

I only knew computer science (CS) back in grade 12 and didn’t know a thing about accounting or finance. I saw this program randomly and wanted to take on a challenge in addition to the CS side. I’m so glad I did and things have worked out!

Jen (CFM student), Arthur, Michael, and Erin  did extremely well in the final presentations in Atlanta. Hire Heroes implemented many of their recommendations and awarded the team "Most Value to Hire Heroes".

The School of Accounting and Finance at the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ recently hosted the 2015 Investment Research Challenge (IRC). The competition required student groups to analyze a publicly-traded stock and defend its buy/hold/sell recommendation.
