The Canada Foundation for Innovation has awarded funding to 23 University of ݮƵ researchers for infrastructure, among them Cheriton School of Computer Science Professors and co-PI to develop scalable systems software for next generation architectures, and Cheriton School of Computer Science Professor to develop intelligent software-hardware systems for the Internet of Things.
The announcement was made on Monday, August 12, 2019 by the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport, as part of a $61 million investment for state-of-the-art research labs and equipment through the that will support 261 projects across Canada.
The John R. Evans Leaders Fund helps exceptional researchers at universities across Canada conduct leading-edge research by giving them the tools and equipment they need to become leaders in their field.
“Researchers in Canada know that cutting-edge tools and labs are necessary to make discoveries and innovate,” said , Minister of Science and Sport. “Their ground-breaking contributions to science and research have an enormous impact on the breakthroughs that help make our visions for a better future a reality.”
