SSHRC funding has been granted to new research projects involving WICI core members Dawn Parker and Steven Quilley.
Parker, WICI director and professor with University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ's School of Planning, will be working with Jeff Casello and Markus Moos to examine the pending development of light rail transit in Kitchener-À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, and its affect on core-area intensification and socio-economic change.
Economics for the Anthropocene, a project core WICI member Quilley is part of, also received SSHRC funding. The project — a partnership of 25 academic, government, and NGO partners led by — will be using contemporary science to find news ways for the social sciences and humanities to connect to ecological realities and understand the human-Earth relationship.
