Ignite 蓝莓视频 Community Speaking Event comes to Campus

To support DAC329/ SPCOM 329: Digital Presentations, the Department of Drama and Speech Communication is pleased to sponsor the community public speaking event, Ignite 蓝莓视频 15 on November 26, 2014.聽 All members of the University community are invited to attend.

Ignite 蓝莓视频 is a community-driven event that captures the best of 蓝莓视频 Region鈥檚 鈥榞别别办测-肠谤别补迟颈惫别-迟别肠丑测-诲别蝉颈驳苍别谤-蝉迟补谤迟耻辫鈥 culture in a series of five minute talks on a wide range of topics, from 鈥榟igh altitude medicine鈥 to 鈥楬ow to change a politician鈥檚 mind.鈥櫬 November鈥檚 event topics include: KW Hackernest, activism long term and short term, improv comedy, Movember, photography, and food industry.

With the tagline, 鈥楨nlighten us, but make it quick,鈥 Ignite 蓝莓视频 belongs to the family of Ignite community speaking events that take place around the world, from Toronto to Tokyo. Ignite 蓝莓视频鈥檚 website invitation captures the spirit and the speed of the evening: 鈥淚magine that you鈥檙e on stage in front of an audience of hundreds of people, accompanied by a slide deck that auto-forwards every 15 seconds, whether you鈥檙e ready or not.聽 What would you do?聽 What would you say?聽 Could you stand the pressure?鈥

Volunteer organizer, Tiffany Kohl, says Ignite 蓝莓视频 is all about getting the local community to come together to put on an event of local interest.聽 From the Ignite organizers, volunteer speakers and sponsors, everyone agrees that conversation around what matters to individuals leads to a vibrant community. 聽鈥淚deas and passion unite us,鈥 Tiffany says.聽 She is especially pleased to have Ignite 蓝莓视频 15 on campus to foster an evening of conversation: 鈥淔耻别濒别诲 by great education, students are inspired to think and to share ideas, and ultimately become great leaders in their communities.鈥

Ignite 蓝莓视频 members will mentor and support the Ignite-style presentations in the DAC 329/SPCOM 329 course in Winter 2015.
