John Dennis
John E. Dennis Jr. received an honorary Doctor of Mathematics (DMath). He is renowned for his fundamental contributions to continuous optimization. John Dennis is the Noah Harding professor emeritus and research professor in the Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics at Rice University. He also served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization from 1988 to 1993.

Distinguished Teacher Award

Alfred Menezes
Alfred Menezes was announced as a recipient of the Distinguished Teacher Award. Alfred Menezes is an instructor in cryptography, coding theory and introductory combinatorics and algebra. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate students, Alfred is an active graduate supervisor with more than 25 successful supervisions at À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ.

Michele Mosca
Michele Mosca was appointed a University Research Chair in recognition of his exceptional research and scholarly achievements. The appointment will be held from 2012 to 2019. Michele is a professor in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization. He also serves as deputy director of the Institute for Quantum Computing.
