 nents of the directed\nconfiguration model in the barely subcritical regim
 e. We show that\nwith high probability all strongly connected components i
 n this regime\nare either cycles or isolated vertices and give an asymptot
 ic\ndistribution of the size of the kth largest cycle. This gives a\nconfi
 guration model analogue of a result of Luczak and Seierstad for\nthe binom
 ial random digraph.\n
