 ACT:\n\nThe chromatic symmetric function\, dating from 1995\, is a\ngenera
 lization of the chromatic polynomial. A famed conjecture on it\,\ncalled t
 he Stanley-Stembridge (3+1)-free conjecture\, has been the\nfocus of much 
 research lately. In this talk we will be introduced to\nthe chromatic symm
 etric function\, the (3+1)-free conjecture\, new cases\nand tools for reso
 lving it\, and answer another question of Stanley of\nwhether the (3+1)-fr
 ee conjecture can be widened. This talk requires\nno prior knowledge.\n
