Apply to be part of our COP26 delegation

From October 31 to November 12, the world will gather in Glasgow for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) 26th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP26) to discuss and negotiate more ambitious action to meet the Paris Agreement commitments. On behalf of the University of ݮƵ community, the Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change (IC3) will lead a virtual delegation to COP26 to engage with governments and non-government observers from around the world. Graduate student delegate applications are now open. 

Climate change poses significant risks to water security in urban settings. Addressing this complex challenge requires collaboration and the incorporation of knowledge and expertise from various disciplines. The University of ݮƵ’s Water Institute (WI) and Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change (IC3) are advancing these efforts by delivering a uniquely designed, three-week virtual summer school - Climate Change and Water Security in Urbanized Watersheds: An Interdisciplinary Perspective.

Unpacking the international governance framework of the Conference of the Parties () to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (). Moderated by ݮƵ Professor Ian Rowlands, the discussion explored how COP fits into the global climate change governance system, and featured guest speakers who shared their own COP experiences.

UݮƵ students discussed the topic of toxic algal blooms in a recent webinar presented by the Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change (IC3) and Faculty of Health. The webinar “Toxic Algal Blooms – Implications of Climate Change on Frequency and Prevention in Water Systems” was held on January 27, 2021.
