The À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Centre for German Studies is happy to announce the winner of the WCGS Book Prize for first books published in 2019. Characters before Copyright: The Rise and Regulation of Fan Fiction in Eighteenth-Century Germany, written by Matthew H. Birkhold and published by Oxford University Press, was selected from a shortlist of seven excellent academic monographs. The prize includes a cash award of CAD $3,000.
