The À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ Centre for German Studies hosted this international conference at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ. It brought together scholars from North American and European universities whose research investigated various facets of the post-secondary curriculum for teaching and learning German as a foreign and/or second language and culture.

The Annual Conference of the Austrian Studies Association is being held at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ. Co-sponsored by the Association, the Faculty of Arts at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, the À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ Centre for German Studies, and the Austrian Cultural Forum, the conference brings together students and scholars from across North America and Europe.
On May 27, the History department at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ and Balsillie School of International Affairs (BSIA) co-hosted the 'East Germany in the Cold War' conference at BSIA. Mark Kramer, Director of the Harvard Project on Cold War Studies, gave a thrillingÌýseminar talk entitled "Cold War Myths and Realities:ÌýUnderstanding Today’s Threats and Challenges in Historical Perspective" on Monday, May 27.
By discussing the issues and problems that are currently central to their research in German Studies, these leading scholars will explore how literary studies can fulfill the expectations of an academic discipline and connect with wider society.
