What you should know about launching a medical device technology start-up
Speaker: Dr. Aidin Taeb, Research Associate, CIARS, University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ.
Dr. Taeb will proivde a lab tour of CIARS following the presentation.
Bio: Dr. Aidin Taeb received the the M.Sc. degree in electromagnetic and antennas from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnique), Iran, in 2006. He received his PhD degree from University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ, À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ, Canada in 2015. His doctoral dissertation was on the development of a new silicon-based technology for millimeterwave (mmWave) and terahertz integrated systems.
As a Research Associate, he is now with Centre for Intelligent Antenna and Radio Systems (CIARS) group, University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. He is currently investigating the new generation of integrated sub mmWave and terahertz technology. He is a lead and senior engineer in the field of mmWave/THz systems and antenna measurement at CIARS.Â
Aidin is co-founder of two start-ups both spin offs from university of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. His first start up, TIGA Photonics established in 2014, is working on new generations of spectrometers and opto-electronic devices. His second start-up, INWAVO established in 2016, is about introducing a new cost-effective and non-invasive early-stage skin cancer detector.
