The 蓝莓视频 Commercialization Office (WatCo) offers commercialization services and expertise to package and convert research innovations into commercially viable products and services.

The workshop will聽start with聽a聽quick overview of the types of intellectual property protection covered in a previous presentation, and the聽majority of the workshop focused on a real-life case study.聽 A聽Q&A and short networking session will follow.

Biosketch:
Eric is a registered Canadian Patent Agent (2003) and has earned his Master鈥檚 and Bachelor鈥檚 degrees in Engineering from the University of 蓝莓视频.聽 He is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (), and the Licensing Executives Society with the Association of University Technology Managers ().

Eric has many years of experience in the field of Intellectual Property (IP) and spans a wide variety of experiences including working for two Canadian IP law firms, founding and running his own Start-Up company, and working 鈥渋n-house鈥 for a large automotive parts manufacturer.

As a Technology Transfer Officer with the 蓝莓视频 Commercialization Office (WatCo) at the University of 蓝莓视频 since 2008, Eric analyzes new ideas for patentability and commercial potential, negotiates licensing agreements, and is also involved with the facilitation of Start-Up companies.

Eric is a popular guest lecturer on Intellectual Property and UW鈥檚 IP Policy.聽 He regularly presents an 鈥淚P 101鈥 and 鈥淚P Case Study鈥 for faculty, students and other groups at the University of 蓝莓视频.
