What are Domestic Robots?听
A domestic robot is an electronic device that is used to help听completely听different tasks around the home [3].听There are many听different types听of domestic robots that already exist today including floor cleaners,听lawnmowers,听and gutter cleaners.听The most common domestic robot used today would be the smart vacuum.听A smart vacuum听can听clean听your floors on its own.听It听can听move around your floor sensing and obstacles听it听runs听into and听modifying听its听path to clean around听the obstacles.听It听can even clean a variety of different floor types such as carpet or hardwood.听One of the most popular smart vacuums out today would be the Roomba.听Even though the smart vacuum is the most common there are others that are becoming much more popular as well such as automatic pool cleaners and gutter cleaners.听The main purpose of a smart robot is to make life easier at home and remove the need for a homeowner to perform simple tasks.听Even though many of us may not realize it most people already have some form of domestic robot in their homes already.听听
How will Domestic Robots Change the Home?听
As time goes on more domestic robots are being introduced into the home that听can complete听more complicated tasks.听Domestic robots will slowly听eliminate听the small and听menial听tasks around the home.听For example, there are domestic robots that听vacuum, clean your pool, clean your gutters, and mow your lawn.听Not to mention,听the introduction of the smart home.听Everything in your home from your thermostat to your alarm system can be run by a smart home.听As soon as you lock your front door your smart home can set your alarm, turn off your lights, and turn down your thermostat ensuring that you听do not听waste money on electricity and heating and that your home is safe.听This not only saves time but also saves money as well by making your home much more efficient.听Manufacturers听are now听in the process of making听more complex Domestic robots that can complete more complex tasks around the home.听There are already more advanced entertainment robots being introduced into the home.听These robots are designed to help those who live alone.听They can play simple word games, respond to verbal听commands,听and search the web.听They complete a variety of different tasks to help the user pass time.听Recent studies have shown that by 2029 robots will become at least as intelligent if not more than humans [1].听

Domestic robots are becoming听increasingly听popular in the everyday home.听They are saving people a lot of time as well as money through increased efficiency in the home.听In the future, most of听our听menial听everyday tasks that are completed in the home may be eliminated听bydomestic robots.听Even though there are already many types of domestic robots in the home today such as automatic vacuums, lawnmowers, and gutter cleaners, there is still a lot of advancement to come.听One day our home may be run听almost completely听by domestic robots.听Who knows how advanced domestic robots will听become?听Will they听become more intelligent than human beings?听Well,听we will听have to wait and see听
