Real Life Robotics, a Velocity startup from the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ, is piloting Canada’s first approved municipal sidewalk delivery robot in Markham in partnership with Skip. Their orange, four-wheeled autonomous robot delivers meals while showcasing a scalable model for last-mile delivery. The company aims to make AI-driven robotics accessible to non-technical industries—supporting restaurants, hospitals, retail, and even zoos—with solutions that reduce labour shortages, lower costs, and offer environmentally sustainable alternatives. Drawing from À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ’s strong robotics ecosystem and co-op talent, Real Life Robotics builds integrated hardware-software platforms and simplifies robotic deployment for clients. Their pilot project, supported by partners like Robot.com, Rogers, and the Remington Group, serves as a blueprint for national expansion. CEO Cameron Waite says the goal is to bring a À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ-born solution to clients across Canada.
