Creating sustainable futures

Collaboration was top of mind at this year鈥檚 蓝莓视频 Innovation Summit, 鈥淩ethinking global travel: Designing more sustainable journeys from A to B.鈥

On April 21, alumni and business leaders gathered at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto to explore the latest advances in sustainable transportation. Audiences learned about groundbreaking research partnerships and bold business ventures across the travel sector, including electric and autonomous vehicles, aeronautics, clean energy and urban planning.

Together with colleagues from finance, aviation, clean energy and other industries, guests of the lunch explored the climate change solutions they hoped to see in their lifetimes. During the discussions, they also exchanged ideas on how 蓝莓视频 can use its strengths in research, co-op and entrepreneurship to tackle climate change.

鈥淭丑别 conversations were intentional and engaging,鈥 said Nenone Donaldson, Vice-President, Advancement. 鈥It was clear that 蓝莓视频 is well positioned to drive solutions to climate change through research with partners inside and outside the University, as well as experience-rich learning for our students, who will lead the transformation of our industries and societies.

I鈥檓 grateful to all the participants who shared their insights, and I look forward to continuing these discussions as we advance our goal of creating sustainable futures.
