Thursday, June 21st聽marked the conclusion of a successful international workshop at the 蓝莓视频 Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN). For the past four days, representatives from the Center for Nanointegration Duisburg-Essen () in Germany and WIN met to discuss opportunities for joint funding proposals and establishing student knowledge exchanges.

鈥淲e were really pleased with how this came together, and built on what we accomplished at the first workshop last year in Duisburg. We have formed new collaborations, have planned several student exchanges at the undergrad and graduate level, joint publications, and have identified several joint funding opportunities. We are already looking forward to our next workshop in Duisburg, in 2019,鈥 said WIN members and co-Chairs, Dr.聽Michael Pope聽and Dr.聽Kyle Daun.
In response the Managing Director of CENIDE, Tobias Teckentrup said, 鈥淚t was a great pleasure to be hosted at WIN for our second joint workshop. We were happy to have an intensive discussion about scientific topics for further future collaboration. What started as a one-by-one collaboration six years ago has now turned into an impressive group of researchers.
Founded in 2005 at the University of Duisburg-Essen, CENIDE is home to 70 PIs representing physics, chemistry, electrical and mechanical engineering, biology and medicine. It is one of Europe鈥檚 most important research units in nanotechnology and material science. Research at CENIDE extends from fundamental research to a wide range of applications in energy, electronics, information technology and health. 聽
